I’m an Australian Self-Taught Artist with over 40 years experience. At the heart of what I do is the desire to capture the fleeting moment — that sudden, unfiltered glimpse before we often recognize it for what it actually is. Much of my artwork encompasses Contemporary Social Commentary: The interactions between people and their environment, the fortunate and the unfortunate, the unspoken norms and taboos we live with, the quiet drama of our conscious and subconscious hopes, fears, and desires. What motivates us to be who we are....?
Please note, all of my Artworks are signed using my nickname from high school - 'Kus'.
I often find myself needing to clarify that I don’t use an airbrush. The smoothness and detail in my works come purely from traditional brushwork.
None of my images are cropped or digitally enhanced. Each painting is composed as you see it — allowing space for your imagination to move beyond the frame. What you see is exactly how the work was painted. Some older images may appear slightly blurry, simply because they were photographed on outdated equipment.
